When will the 2022-2023 end of financial year documents be available to my clients?

We are working hard to ensure your clients receive their 2022-2023 end of financial year documents. We are experiencing a delay for some customers and expect all customers to be sent their documents by mid-end October 2023.

  • An Insurance Premium Summary for your Zurich clients with an Income Protection policy (*) where the total premium paid during the 2022-2023 financial is greater than zero.
  • Annual Statements for your clients with lump sum policies held in super (*) where the policy is still in force at 30 June 2023.

(*) Excludes policies held in the Zurich Insurance-only Superannuation Plan (ZIOSP). The administrator of this Plan will send your clients:

  • An Annual Member Statement if the policy is still in force at 30 June 2023 – sent late August.
  • A ‘Notice of intent to claim a tax deduction for personal super contributions’ form (Section 290-170 Notice) if your client has made personal contributions during the 2022-2023 financial year and their policy is still in force at 30 June 2023 – sent from late July.

    The trustee will send an Acknowledgement letter the next day after receiving a completed section 290-170 notice.

    It is important to remember that one of the eligibility criteria required by the ATO is that there must be an active membership in the Plan at the time we receive the completed notice. If a member has left the Plan (e.g. through cancellation of the policy) we are unfortunately unable to action the notice. Please keep this in mind when considering changes to your client’s membership, and ensure notices are submitted prior to the closure of membership.

Will I receive a copy of my clients’ 2022-2023 Zurich end of financial year documents?

A copy of these documents will be available in the Policy Correspondence section of The Adviser Portal within a few days of sending them to your clients. You can login or register for the portal here.

How can my client request a further copy of their 2022-2023 Zurich end of financial year documents?

Your client can login or register for My Zurich to retrieve a copy of their 2022-2023 end of financial year documents. They will be available in the customer portal within a few days of sending them to your clients.

Further information on My Zurich can be found at zurich.com.au/changes-to-your-insurance. Please encourage your clients to register for My Zurich if they have not done so already so they can benefit from the many features the portal provides for them.

Alternatively, you can login or register for The Adviser Portal to obtain a copy for your client.

Please note: Copies of documents issued to members of the Zurich Insurance-only Superannuation Plan will instead be available by contacting the trustee via Insurance & Superannuation Administration Services Pty Ltd:

Will all my Zurich retail super clients be sent an Annual Statement for the 2022-2023 financial year?

Yes for those of your clients whose policy was in force at 30 June 2023.

This includes those of your clients where no contributions have been made to their policy during the period 1 July 2022 to 30 June 2023 inclusive (e.g. the policy has been on full premium waiver for the duration of this period).

If the premium on my client’s policy is due on or before 30 June 2023 but they don’t pay the premium until after 30 June, will the premium still be included in their 2022-2023 end of financial year document(s) Zurich sends them?

Any premium payment that we process after 30 June 2023 will be included in your client’s 2023-2024 end of financial year document(s) and not the 2022-2023 end of financial year documents.
