Drawing on recent government data, international experts, and our local advice communities, “The Client Connection Series” provides compelling analysis of how Australian’s health, wellbeing, leisure, and financial security are intrinsically linked with the advice relationship.

The Client Connection Series consists of three papers:

1. White Paper - Lessons in Leisure

This industry first brings together the latest research in leisure and recreational behaviours and their benefits, with advice insights into the hospitalisation risk, allowing advisers to better educate their clients on the activities we undertake, the likelihood of serious injury, and ultimately the role of personal wealth protection.

2. Adviser Focus Report - The (Hidden) Therapeutic Value of Advice

This report introduces the psychology of advice and explores the increasing non-financial factors driving advice relationships. By recognising the interconnectedness between a person’s financial affairs and other aspects of their lives which feed into their overall wellbeing (health, career, relationships) we can gain a deeper understanding of the true role advisers can play in the lives of their clients, and in doing so redefine the meaning, and value of financial advice.

3. Practice Focus Report - Value beyond the SOA

Building on the findings of the Adviser Focus Report and it’s exploration into the therapeutic/mentoring advice approach that is  increasing effectiveness and commercial benefits, this paper expands this idea across the advice value chain including business processes, skills and education, and remuneration. The report introduces some practical application of the findings, including new skills advisers are applying to clients which is in turn leading some to rethink their own advice process.
